Get Involved
How can I help?
Ubuntu as we all know is a project that was started by Canonical and has been embraced by the Linux community. Ubuntu does not have any large marketing campaings or any formal main stream media advertising. It is up to all of us within the Ubuntu community to help promote Ubuntu.
You can achieve this by letting your friends know about it and sharing your experiences with other non Ubuntu users, handing out fliers, attending release parties and workshops. Ubuntu is FREE to share and distribute and it can be installed in may desktops/laptops and netbooks. You can help by promoting Ubuntu, but also by contributing to its on going development on a volunteer basis.

Greetings!
I live in MA and have been using Ubuntu for a year, love it. I have a facebook friend who needs a new laptop so I suggested of course Ubuntu. Do you have any meetups near Jupiter? I’d love to be able to put her in touch with someone down there. Thanks so much!
felicia, I am certain one of the leads will get back to you soon, I think Dan is near Jupiter. There was a pin map on here, I don’t know if it’s still around.
Am assuming you know about Flux ( http://www.flux.org/ ) and PBCLUG ( http://www.pbclug.org/ ). Thought I’d mention the groups, because I’m not sure if they know about you and your group. You may want to let them know about you. Am sure PBCLUG could use some help/volunteers with Software Freedom Day this year if you want to further promote Ubuntu at the event.
I would love to join Ubuntu Florida, I have been a Ubuntu user and Semi Developer for the past 6 years. Also have taught multiple classes on basic Ubuntu terminal commands. I currently own a small computer company in Orlando Fl, and would like to get more involved in the Ubuntu community.
Great to hear from you Todd.
We have our team sign-up here: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-us-florida
And our mailing list here: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-us-fl
We also have a sizable group of our active members that hang out in IRC. See the ‘team chat’ link in the nav bar.
Look forward to hearing from you.
