About
The Ubuntu Florida Local Community Team
The Florida Ubuntu Local Community Team started in February, 2007 and is now well over 200 members strong. We advocate the use of Ubuntu Linux and Free/Libre Open Source software (FLOSS). In addition to user support, we’re here to partner with charitable organizations, local governments, educational institutions, and businesses to foster the use of Ubuntu Linux. We do ths by:
- Developing educational projects
- Working with local LUGs and community groups to distribute free CDs
- User support
- Outreach programs
- Exhibits at various industry shows.
Most of our members are also members of local Linux User Groups (LUGs) and one of our goals is to assist local LUGs with activities, advocacy, and technical support.
The team is open and available to anybody who wishes to learn or advance the use of Ubuntu and Linux, regardless of knowledge and experience.
